I would read Tom Lucier’s How To Buy Used And Bruised Houses For Fast Profits. It goes into great detail on how to give properties a cosmetic facelift. I bought my copy at amazon.com.

‘housewise’ by Suzanne Brangham. It’s out of print, but they usually have copies at www.half.com
