Are these “Sold” books as good as the comps you might get from a title insurance company? And are they updated every six months or so? Where else can people get comps if they can’t find them on the internet?

Help a newbie out once again.
Is there a place I can go to get a list of houses sold in a given area over, let’s say the last six months?
Most importantly the price it was sold for. I’ve done deed searches so all I really need is an address, date and a price and I can look up everything else (I think). By the way this isn’t the same as a market analysis is it? If it isn’t than what is a market analysis, and what is it used for?
Thanxs again from convention land.

Marc,
The info you are looking for is for “comps” as they are commonly referred to.
This means, “Comparative Market Analysis”.
There are sites online where you can get sales prices on recently sold homes.
Here are a few for you:http://www.homepricecheck.com/
many local boards of Realtors will publish a “Sold” book which they will sell to the general public. Check there first. looks like a market analysis to me.
