Yes they are, just go the local courthouse or tax assessor office. They are public information.

Hi,

Does anyone here know the best way to track down the owner of a vacant, abandoned house?

Thanks.

Try using www.deadleads.com. They should be able to assist in locating the owners for you. I used them last week and was impressed with what they were able to come up with.

Try starting out with the Tax records. That will at least tell you the owner, and possibly their new address. After you have their name, if the address is still the subject property… just look them up the way you would anyone else. Phone books, online people finders sites, asking neighbors of the home… ect . You can also do a search on here to get more ideas, this has been discussed many times.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Heather… Too bad there isn’t an easier way. These tax records are not easy to find at all. But then, I guess if it were easy there would be no money in it.
