www.sidestep.com is a fairly new site that searches all the
airlines directly and shows you all the flights and fares.
You then make your reservation directly with the airline.

We used it for the first time and got good rates to Atlanta
from CA, MI, NC and FL. We even got a direct non-stop flight
from San Diego, which I had thought was impossible.

Apparently many airlines are offering lower fares if you make
your reservations online at their site.

See you in Atlanta!

What I have found to be UNBEATABLE for finding low air fares is

http://beta.itasoftware.com

click on Guest and then enter your parameters.
This searches every possible combination of flights - and I do mean EVERY - and comes up with the lowest prices.

Sometimes it will find weird routings with a couple of stops, or layovers in bizarre places, that are really cheap.

But even if it doesn’t, it is still the best place to find the lowest fares since it searches directly from the airlines’ fare computers, rather than a “reservation system” such as would be used by a travel agent or most online travel sites.

I checked my fare with Delta through your site and the one mentioned by JP. I found that her site was $10 cheaper for Delta.

Interesting though…I got the lowest fare with Delta via telephone…lol…nearly $40 per ticket cheaper.
