Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves... - Posted by ccreed50

“A buck eighty” is cheesy realtor slang for "one hundred eighty thousand American dollars "–which would you rather be faced with paying…?

Ali Baba et. al. are the proverbial ring of mouthbreathers who form on the lawn, and, noticing no unseemly fresh faces, decide they’d just as soon keep a goodthing to themselves. The piece in question goes off at way under market, and they divvy up the lucre later…

…just picked up a nice piece on the east side, worth a buck-eighty, for 90! Who said it doesn’t pay to go to auctions? Dang!

Could you put this in plain English for us illiterate folks? Is “a buck-eighty” = $180K?

Also, could you provide some details on how you found this property and what the details are for bidding at auctions?

Thanks!

No right of redemption in so-called ‘strict foreclosure’ states - Posted by ccreed

Of which CT & RI are some, & other NE states. Yeah, we’re a loong way from trust deed land…

No notice, either, unless you count the ad for the auction. If the mortgage contains the power of sale (which they do) it’s in the paper and then onto the lawn…

Happy hunting,
