Another quick lesson I learned - the “nice investor” who sold us the home yesterday called today and said that “suddenly” our Section 8 tenant has decided she is unhappy at the home (after being there 3 years) and will be moving within the week! He also said that we “probably shouldn’t call Section 8 and tell them - it would just complicate things” and that if the check “happened” to go to him, he would send it to us (yeah, right). We’re mosying right over tomorrow and getting the records changed, and picking up our (first and last) check in person, if at all possible.
We are glad, actually - first of all, Section 8 guarantess payment for 30 days if the tenant bails without 30 day’s notice. But second, we really didn’t want to keep this house, so now we can sell it and cash out after all!
Hmmmm … where do you think this tenant will end up living? Perhaps in another of this investor’s homes???
