There is some kind of caustic lime-based powder that will poison the ground for a century. Neither you nor subsequent owners will be able to grow anything there for a long time. I think it came from Home Depot.

We used it on gravel driveways.

I’m putting the finishing touches on a newer home that I plan to lease option and have a somewhat silly question for anyone who is good with landscaping and lawn stuff. It has a nice long driveway that has expansion joints between the pieces, and grass and weeds keep growing up in the cracks. I’m getting sick of constantly pulling them and/or using weed killer which doesn’t really work anyway because then you just have a bunch of dead brown grass/weeds that looks just as bad. Do they make some type of weatherproof silicon or other material I can put in the expansion joints that will prevent grass and weeds from growing in there so it looks nice all the time?
