When I bring up the News Group, my Netscape has new posts colored as if I have already accessed them. Is this happening to anyone else?

This May Help… - Posted by J.P. Vaughan

This is a tip Joe Kaiser gave us a while ago. Since this
news group is really busy (already 143 posts today), the
numbers tied to the posts (for example, this is 14815.html)
repeat themselves after a time. There is a browser setting,
“links expire after xx days.” I use 45 days (per Joe’s
suggestion) and that seems to solve the problem.

Thanks. However, I can’t find that setting on Communicator 4.5 - Posted by FJW

Thanks JP, and again, I apologize for blindly guessing to an answer of a previous post, but…

My old version of Navigator has that setting you referred to, but not the latest version, Communicator 4.5. At least I can’t seem to find it. Any other ideas? Anyone?

Hi FJW,
In Communicator 4.5 you need to first click “Edit” at the top of the page.
Next choose “Preferences” from the pull-down menu.
Then click on Navigator on the left side of the pop-up window.
On the right side of the pop-up window you will see 4 sections.
Under the “History” section you will see a sentence saying “Pages in history expire after XX days.” There you can choose the # of days you wish. Also, if you want to just start from scratch and leave the # of days at the default of 30, just click the “Clear History” button and you will be good as new.
Hope this helps!
