I had thought of using this tecnique combined with another approach. There was a time that I had 5 homes for sale in inventory. I thought about advertising a “How to Own Your Own Home Free Seminar” and hold it in one of the homes.
I could show people how we do business, how much per month (less than rent) and how much down and how they would own the home within 3 years.
I would then mention that there just happened to be several homes we were currently offering in this program.
I had intended to have a park manager attend the meeting as well so we could pre-screen tenants right on the spot.
The seminar would not have been a formal event but would have included such info as you might find about selling vs. renting, how much you pay in rent in a “x” number of years, how much the opportunity cost can amount to over “x” number of years, tax savings vs. rent etc.
It might have been worth it but those darn 5 homes sold before I could even try. (Hate when that happens right:)
