Hi dee jay,
You may be interested in knowing two of the easiest things to repair on a credit report are repo’s and late payments. Yes you may have made late payments the question to be answered, was that information reported correctly? 97% not on late pays. The Fair Credit Reporting Act states if an inaccuracy is identified and presented to them the reporting company must delete or correct the error. In the case of a mortgage the information can not be deleted but the inaccurate entry must be corrected, and the correction must happen within 30 days of the notification of the error. The corrected report would show paid or paying as agreed never late and your score would reflect the change in an increase.
Feel free to contact me for more information.
Sincerely,
Bruce Lawson
