Hello,

I am looking for a concise way to explain the difference between a lease/option and a contract for deed to a potential tenant/buyer. Best I’ve come up with is this:

A lease/option gives you the RIGHT to buy the property from us within the period of your option. With a contract for deed, you ARE buying the property, but we hold the title until you pay us off.

I’ve got to go listen to my Lou Brown tapes again. Does he have contingencies in his AFD selling contract for due on sale clause being activated by original lender? (I bought the house on subject-to).
