The reason that we’d like to sell the home ourselves is that we’d like to salvage as much equity as possible from the sale. - Purchased the home at $300.00 two years ago, comps in the area selling for $400.00.
Actually, I just came across this book.

Hello all,
My wife and I would like to sell our home without the use of a Real Estate Agent. Nothing fancy…no creative financing or lease options, just a quick and easy transaction.
Since we’re not investors, we’re not familiar with everything involved regarding the sale of a home.
We’d really appreciate any recommendations on a good book outlining the process of selling one’s home. Preferrably California specific.

Why don’t you want to use a realtor? There a tons of books out there. We all are looking for the quick and easy transaction and they do happen once in awhile, but the key is to have your home priced right and have a good attorney to handle the paperwork and closing.
