Can I use out of state company? - Posted by Devon (Buffalo)

Hello, I have a company from a previous career in Connecticut, and I would like to avoid having to set one up in NY. Can I file a doing business as name change with the connecticut secretary of state, and then use this name in New York to do my real estate investing?

One reason I’d like to do this, is I’ve established credit with this LLC in Connecticut.

thanks for you help.

Yes, but you will pay annual fees in both states.
