If the utilities are connected to an external building and then shared with another building it may be a problem. You would definately want to check with your local authorities to make sure the arrangement is kosher.

I am purchasing a house from a developer that bought a bunch of land, and included an older home. So he wanted to sell the older home to me. His asking price is 50K, for a 3 bed 1 bath 1200 square foot.

The home is in pretty good condition, very livable, well taken care of, and in a growing town. So I agreed to the 50k price if he would install central heating and air, and new vinyl siding, and new guttering. He agreed.

Im sure the house will be worth 70k or over with all that done, but there is one small problem with the houseā€¦
The utility room is in a storage building outside of the home. A paved driveway connects the short walk from the house, to the building.

Is this a major problem? Or should I make one of the three bedrooms into a utility room?
