Add your name? As…? Co-borrower? Or assume the mortgage? Hmmm…I thought Garn-St Germain allows for transfers of property between family members without violating that DOS clause. Don’t know if it applies to the “in-laws”, although you could have you “in-laws” transfer it over to BOTH you and your wife. Then it wouldn’t be a case of “in-laws” but parents to child.
