Chat feature suddenly making my Mac crash - Posted by Patrick, MD

I just checked on my Mac running OS X v. 10.2.6 and it worked fine
with Safari and with IE. I don’t know what version of the OS your are
running OS X or OS 9, but since the chat feature seems to be a Java
applet, there may be multiple factors. First of all, try another URL that
contains Java and see if your Mac crashes. Also, try another browser
such as Netscape, Mozillia, or Safari…etc. Download any software
updates from Apple if you have not done so. If you are running OS X,
a new Java version was just released. If you are running OS 9, reboot
with just the base extensions and see if you can dulplicate the issue.

Good Luck,
John

I have used the chat feature on this site several times with no problem.
But last night and tonight it seemed to make my computer, a current
iMac flatscreen, crash as soon as I typed in my password and clicked
“Log On.” The Apple OS has historically been much more more stable
than Windows, so I’m wondering if any other Mac users have
experienced a similar problem or if this is just a temporary
anomaly.

Its because you’re using a MAC… PC is the only way to go.
