Conversion of Buildings into lofts? - Posted by George

Hi George,
I saw your post and reminded me of a friend I had when I was going to school in Boston. He had a loft on the water in the south end of the city. Really big, Super cool and no water.
They (whomever had converted the building) set up three lofts per floor and they all shared a bathroom (with a shower stall) per floor.
I know that my friend was paying $1200 a month to live there.
So you may have a good idea, providing you can find people to pay your price.
Good Luck,
Dirk

Does anyone have information on the best means to convert a once used vacant building into lofts. That would include gaining the correct zoning and financing for such a project.
