cost of septic install - clarification - Posted by Steve-WA

Down the page, I responded to a post asking about the feasibility of developing raw land for placing MHs. I mentioned severe expense, and that generated a flood of responses stating how much LESS it is “where they live”.

I post this separately to not lose it in the pile.

I have NOT gone the distance for getting bids, but I have talked informally with a building contractor (a friend) who himself has a decent undeveloped 1 acre lot that he is selling. He is considering developing the utilities to get a higher price, and the 15K expense for the septic series is what came out.

There may be a cheaper bid here, but I dinna think that I’d find somebody to do it for $1200!!!

Is 15k for a regular septic system or a mound system?

A co-worker just had a regular system installed and it was 5k for the tank and installation. He doesn’t remember what it cost to have the system design plans made. Then the plans had to be submitted to the county with the fee, of course.
