I’m also a Burley graduate living in Australia (Brisbane for the time being).
As far as “wraps” are concerned, I see no reason why you can’t do them here. Contact a solicitor that specializes in RE and then when he/she says “no”–go find another who will say yes.
The important thing is not whether others are doing it–are you going to take the dive?
I am moving to the States to further my RE investing because I feel that the Australian government (and society?) is just too socialist. If I make money here, I am somehow a bad person. I can’t deal with that.
Anyway, I’ve been doing rehabs and have learned quite a bit, but I prefer not to get my hands dirty anymore.
