creative real estate = scam - Posted by michaela-ATL

Posted by michaela-ATL on December 01, 2002 at 18:04:30:

somebody on www.creditnet.com has just made a post of a john t reed article on how most creative real estate deals are unethical and maybe illegal, and the person, that posted this also said, that most deal he’s seen are unethical. i’m pretty ticked off at this, because most people there won’t know any better and believe that crap.

it would really help, if a few more investors came over there and gave their opinions on this. go to the website and click on discussions, then go to the credit discussion group. the link is ‘attnetion re investors, flippers etc’.

Michaela, The guy who posted that comment about creative financing of properties being fraudlent and illegal doesn’t know very much about being a creative thinker in doing real estate transactions. Also on the creditnet.com disclaimer says that it is a personal opinion of that person who made the comment so let it go. Anyone who knows about JohnReed’s site knows how he brow beats the gurus as someone says “He’s nay-sayer” so don’t worry about the millions worry about yourself, fair enough? We who post comments here on a regular basis here on creonline know better that creative real estate is genuine. Cheers! Do you know Michaela why Jeff-FL doesn’t comments like this here on this site because he knows as well as I’m sitting here typying…He would be flooded with responses from others right here on creonline. Again I say “Cheers!”

Michaela: let it go, dear. Anyone who takes the crankier parts of Jack Reed’s vast and oftentimes murky message seriously probably can’t be helped anyway. People who are drawn to reactionary messages won’t want any other input. Honestly, the man is really smart and has lots of good points, but he takes himself much too seriously as a self-appointed arbiter of ethical real estate investing.

His site is an absolute hoot, for those who haven’t visited. There you can read all of his reviews of a pretty large list of real estate educational authors–highly editorialized and mostly very, very critical. That being said, he is very interesting.

Sincerely, Kristine

kristine,
the thing is, creditnet is not a real estate site. it’s a big credit repair discussion group and these people don’t know john reed from adam. so, this guy comes on and makes this post warning people of doing any kind of creative real estate deals, because they’re unethical and illegal. that’s how we all get a bad name. this is how stuff gets spread through the general population how we’re all out to scam little old ladies (john t reed’s example). it’s one thing to debate that with other investors, it’s another to throw this out amongst people, that don’t know not to believe it.

John Reed is selling his own course and his entre marketing strategy is to put down others. He is being sued for libel by Whitney and you should read everything on the Reed site and see what lenght Reed has taken to attack Whitney and notice ALL of the things he states as facts are not backed up and he NEVER has links to news and articles he quotes and has even gone so far as to attack Whitney’s family members, friends and ex-workers and has even printed stuff he did as a minor.

You may think I am a Whitney person but probably Whitney is like most other Guru’s and sells more hype than fact but the real bad person is Reed who pretends to be above board and tells lie after lie about his competition and draws his own conclusions as facts based on people not responding or not giving the exact page number and sentence that made them money with a course yet he never provides any factual information.

Here is another take on the case http://www.whitney-facts-vs-johntreed.com/

My guess is Whitney sells over priced material and using the same markering techniques as most and tries to get you to by more and more but instead of being honest about this Reed lies and lies and goes into the most non-relevant things such as Whitney’s family members (even harrassing his 73 year old step mother) and then states insane facts that are nothing more than his own paranoid opinions or worse yet, things he knows are not true but posts them anyway.

Talk about a cesspool of con men, crooks and liars! The only real way to “repair” credit is to PAY OFF THE DEBT. Millions of desperate people get taken in by promises to erase the bad credit on their credit reports, which only a hacker could do (illegally).

bryan,
calm down! the site is not some company trying to sell anything. it’s perfectly legal to question things on your credit report and there are ways to deal with mistakes and other things on your credit report and get them off. there’s no hacking involved.
