I posted this message on the Financing Board, but thought I might find others here who may have insights…
In reviewing my credit report, I have found that my student loans are listed by DISBURSEMENT rather than by ACCOUNT. Therefore, it appears in my credit profile that I have several student loan accounts even though I make only one payment each month to one account (for the combined balance). Two years ago, I fell behind on my payments for a few months and my delinquency is reported in my credit profile as 4 separate delinquencies (one for each disbursement).
Can anything be done about this? It doesn’t seem fair to be penalized 4 times over for the same delinquency. Any thoughts/ideas?
