Has anyone found any legal newspapers or information source providers that report Notices of Default in the DC metro area? I’m having a hard time finding either, and I can’t go to the courthouse to spend a day getting the information as I have a full time job.

You can go to the fairfax county web site, which has a system that you can pay $25.00 per month to use. It allows you to search all the real estate land records online, including deeds of trust and lis pendens notices. If nothing else it’s handy for figuring out how much is really owed on a particular property. And it’s only for Fairfax County–all the rest you’ll have to go to the courthouse.
