FHA does cost the seller, AND FHA apprasials are known to require the seller to fix things that a conventional appraisal will not.

many sellers will not go either FHA/Va for these reasons.

I made an offer on a house adn the seller (after a couple counters) agreed but with the condition that it can’t be an FHA loan. I asked my Realtor why they would specify this and she said because it costs the seller 1 point if I get an FHA loan. Is that true? I’m thinking that it means they wont fix anything that turns up at the inspection (which I sure is going to turn up some costs)

Should I save the $200 inspection fee?

thanks very much,
