I just tell them it was a gift. The lenders I have come across can really care less, whereas they are looking to say ‘yes’, not ‘no’.

If my Fiance gives me $5000 to use as a downpayment for a home loan would this be acceptable for a mortgage company? If this is considered a gift?

MOST OF THE LENDERS I WORK WITH DON’T CARE AS LONG AS YOU HAVE IT DEPOSITED FOR 3 MONTHS PRIOR TO CLOSE.
