A fictitious name provides you with no liability protection at all. In PA, there’s a very long statute of limitations for lawsuits, particularly involving injuries from property rehabs. If you are serious about doing business, the expense of incorporating is little compared to the protection.
When registering for a fictitious name, can I just reg the name, file as a sole proprietor and then as business grows switch to an S corp? I.E. is simply getting the name registered in my state enough to get started in marketing my company?? Thanks.
