Finding comps using Database Services - Posted by osirus

Ron Legrand recomends using online Data base services for finding comparables sales. Some of the ones he endorses are: Information Service Corp, Metroscan, Dataquick. Every other county in my state (Florida), except mine has this info free online.
Are these services a good way to find comps and tax roll information?

How can I find the services you mentioned? Info Services Corp, Metroscan, and Dataquick. Do you have Internet addresses? Thanks

Hey O, I use First American Real Estate Services and it is worth every penny. With many of the free online services you have to enter the parcel # or address or name of owner, then you can only recieve data for that property. The beauty of the services that you pay for is that you can do sales comps using search criteria that you enter, such as 1/2 mile radius, sq. ft. or whatever you choose. I use a CD and find it very usefull…like I can search different criterias on the same property as many times as I want for the same monthly fee. Tell me what county you are in and I’ll tell you if 1st American services that county.

Try this URL:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Companies/Real_Estate/Property_Information/
It gives a directory in Yahoo of some of these services.

I’m interested in using the First American Real Estate Services for finding comp info. I tried searching online for the info and searching the yellow and white pages. I couldn’t find anything. The only thing I found were title companies. Could you please share the telephone number so that I can find out if the service is available in my area?
