Finding the market rental price - Posted by New Investor

I may not be using the correct wording, but I want to know how do I find what the going rent is for an area. I have found a property that has been rented for $750 up until last month. I want to know if this is the going rate for a home in this area…Any ideas on how to find this information before buying a house as a rental??

New Investor,
Your local newspaper is a good way. Also check www.placesforrent.com. These will help you get a general idea of what rents are going for in your market.
Great Success,
