Nancy,
Looking for houses that are in the area and price range that you want to be. It’s different from looking for an investment that doesn’t have to meet your personal needs. Call ads, call numbers on yard signs, look for empty houses with long grass and untrimmed shrubs and call the courthouse to find the owner’s name and address. Look for houses that may not be for sale. Network tell everybody that you’re looking for a house. Seek and you shall find.
Hope this helps,
David

We are looking to buy a single family home in SE PA. It will be our primary residence and the first property we have purchased. We prefer a 3/2 or 4/2 house in a nice area under $140,000. A lease/purchase would be ideal. We are also interested in a property we can get instant equity in so that we can use part of it to invest in other properties. Any suggestions would be welcome as well as any properties which might interest us.

Thank You.
