After looking at several single family homes in Providence,RI,I’ve started to lean toward buying a multi-family (2-3 units), and living in one unit. The problem is, I do not know anyone who has done this before. My dad has taken the Carleton Sheets course, and he’s suggesting I go this route, but I feel like there may be pitfalls I’m overlooking, we’ve always lived in single family homes. I’m concerned about getting psycho tenants. Also, there’s gotta be a better way than going through a bank right now with an FHA loan at over 9 percent!! Can anyone share some experiences in this area?
