I don’t pay a penny fo the sight I recommended. You are absolutely right though, many sights supply the information for free. The reason I suggested towerauction.com is because they send me an email once per week, with local f/c properties and REO’s.
I am sure we can both real down a list of resources, I was just giving a reference for a website.

I hope this helps. I use Tower Auction, they email me a list weekly of VA properites, HUD properties, and a couple other agencies.
