Here is the website for the Florida Landlord Tenant Act. Chapter 83, Florida Statutes. You should find all your answers there. Alot of it depends on the lease agreement.

Florida rented condo. Interest paid for deposit paid by tenant? - Posted by MilNC

If FL condo owner has been renting it out
for many years, lease never re-negotiated
all payments on time, no problem,
,
(1)is the lease
automatically renewed for year with same dates,

or does it convert to month to month after first year?

(2) which deposits if any, are subject to the tenant
being paid interest.

Question posed to me by family member, who
heard recently about interest on deposits, perhaps
on the news, and
doesn’t know if it applies.
What to do in case person wants to sell?
Or , when is interest due?

How much notice to tenant? This is plain rental lease,
paid by the month.

I am not sure if it was last month rent or damage
deposit or both, that was collected, or if those
are treated differently.

I don’t have copy of lease agreement, sorry.

What other information do I need to know/ask?

Thank you,
Ann
