Take the address to county courthouse, they will help you look up the data on owner, liens, and lienholders.
If the owner has not been foreclosed and the loan is less than the value of the property, it is easier to buy the property from the owner than wait for auction.

A house around the corner has recentlly been vacated. A friend told me the owner moved out due to forclosure. This is a great rental area, how do I find out who the loan carrier was, or how do I go about trying to purchase this home?
