Garnishment of Gov’t Wages and 401K Account - Posted by John J

I routinely garnish people’s wages after I obtain judgements for past due rents. I am now obtaining a substantial judgement against someone who works for the US Air Force, I have heard that the government won’t garnish the wages of its employees. Anyone know anything about this? He also has a Thift Savings Plan (TSP) issued by the National Finance Center for Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board. It is probably a sort of 401K. Can I garnish this like I do a bank account?
