You need to understand that they deal with LOADS of people who don’t know what they’re doing, so the assumption going in is that nobody knows what they’re doing until they prove otherwise.
So, you’d best have your act together, and a good package with solid documentation. If your offer is low, you’d better have justification… and that means something other than “it would be a good deal for me.”
If you persist, you will make progress.
