Help in Understanding The Term Due Diligence - Posted by RoyDet

I am frequently seeing the term due diligence and I am yet to fully understand it. I am studying LO Courses of Bronchicks and Kaiser. Is it a clause or just a process? How is it used in an agreement? Would someone please give me an example of how it is used? I am understanding it to be a subject to clause asking for verification of seller’s information.

It’s a term thrown around in legal and investment areas meaning you MUST do your homework. Due diligence involves finding all pertinent facts and figures and verifying that everything IS what it appears to be.
