Help me buy a good financial Calculator - Posted by Alex

Posted by Alex on February 10, 2002 at 20:13:20:

I need to buy a financial calculator that does some pretty basic stuff (annutities, etc.) for a finance class I’m taking. I’ve read suggestions on here about the importance of a good financial calculator for RE investment, which is something I’m considering pursuing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a solid financial calculator?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Brent_IL is right. The HP is a good calculator. I have a Texas Instruments BA-II and it does all that I need.

There are fundamental differences between the two, but both do the job. The main difference is the order in which the data is entered, so those that use the HP have a hard time with the TI and vice-versa. To me the TI is more logical, but the HP users say the same thing about theirs. It really makes no difference. Just pick one and learn the basics.
