Help! More Broken Window$ - Posted by Diane

Attention landlords; I have had several windows (same SFD) broken on one of my rentals over the past several weeks. Looks like the culprits (kidz) are using sling shots firing from the apartment complex next door. Any suggestions for dealing with this nuisance? I do not know who is doin the damage…

Depending on the type of windows, you could replace them with polycarbonate (Lexan is trade name for the General Electric product). It is expensive, and can be scratched, but it is unbreakable. It is the same product used in banks for the bullet proof “glass”. Of course, you just need 1/16" or 1/32" thick. It is easily cut on a table saw or with a circular saw and can be mounted the same as glass. Either in a frame or with glazing putty.
