Being a dumb blonde - I did something and don’t know how to rectify it . I pushed some kind of button on my keyboard earlier and it moved the whole screen sideways. I ahve no idea how to get ti back upright. My neck is hurting from holding my head sideways and I’m about to lay my monitor sideways. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Screen Rotation - Posted by John Behle

Posted by John Behle on June 20, 2005 at 01:13:30:

Try this,

Go to your desktop (the screen without any active programs. Right click and choose “Properties”. Then go to “settings”, then “Advanced”. Then, under “Monitor” you may have an adjustment. Or… there may be a category related to your video card. For example, mine says “NV36” and under that tab I have controls that allow me to rotate the screen.

Otherwise, you may have an adjustment button on your monitor, but I doubt that is it, since it boots up ok and then rotates. That means a setting in Windows is doing the rotation - or when it loads your video settings.

Michaela,
What kind of computer are you using and what operating system are you running?

Do you have a flat screen that can… - Posted by Florida Native

be rotated? If so, you might just be able to right click on the desktop and go to the program that allows you to rotate the monitor and adjust it that way.

Michaela,

Reach down and hit the OFF button on your computer. It may not ‘save the setting’…

John,

thank you! I went that far, but under monitor there are
only 3 options, that don’t seem to have anything to do with the screen.

It happened when I put a notebook on the keyboard and it pushed some buttons, so I assume the fix would also be with some buttons.

I guess it’s not such an easy fix :frowning:

Lyal,
I bought a new computer a month ago. it’s put together with different components and the case doesn’t say what brand it is. I don’t know where the invoice is right now (I’m not exactly organized)

I’m running windows 98.

Didn’t work - Posted by michaela-ATL

Everything was upright until window loaded and then it went sideways again. I’m sure there’s a very simple fix,
since it was very simple to get it this way ;-).

Maybe if I wait long enough and my roots grow out, then
I’ll be smart enough to figure it out.

Michaela,
Only thing I’ve found so far is to press and hold the “Control” and “Alt” keys then press the right arrow key (or left as necessary). Try that and I’ll keep looking.

Lyal,

thank you, thank you, thank you. That worked (well, you figured that after the headline  ) I thank you and my
chiropractor curses you for losing the potential business of re-straightening my neck
