Help! Seller only faxed me the last page of Agreement! - Posted by George(OH)

Posted by George(OH) on May 04, 2000 at 12:43:02:

The page he faxed me was the signature page, which he did sign. Does this make the entire Agreement legal? Should I meet with him to have him sign, then make a copy off the original? Am I being paranoid? I want to make sure everything is ok BEFORE I start calling rehab guys (I’m going to flip this one).

Thanks for putting up with newbie, naive questions,

George(OH)

To be doubly sure, have him initial every page. (nt) - Posted by Ben (NJ)

George,
I always try to keep the original for my file (if possible). You need to have the seller fax you the missing pages, and then ask him to make a good hard copy for his records. Then ask him to send the original to you, so you can show it to the title company. Be sure that he underrstands that title companies like to work off of the original.
The real reason that I like to keep the original is so nobody has an opportunity to make a change in the contract. Just cautious I guess, but you do need a complete copy…ED
