Check Fannie Mae’s website: Home | Fannie Mae
Look under Homes for Sale and see if the houses you saw are listed. Their listing gives you the name of the real estate agency that is handling the property.

I came across two beat-up homes that sit on a single parcel of land. Turns out that they have been vacant for quite a while and Fannie Mae is the holder of the mortgage. I am assuming that they were foreclosed upon. Anyway, I have made repeated calls to Fannie Mae without any luck. I have been told that someone will return my calls, but I that has yet to happen. Has anyone had any related experience with vacant homes held by Fannie Mae but not for sale
