I am interested in buying a hotel property in Dominican Republic, and I would like to get some imput on financing. I have had a communication with a few real estate people down there and the majority of sellers want 50% down and the rest in a short (5 years or so)

Ross, I have done biz (of another nature) in the DR for years and tho I have never looked at REI there, may be able to rustle up some contacts for you if i can get a bit more of an idea as to what you are hoping to put together.
If you want to email about it, I’ll see if I can get someone to shed some light. In addition, I do have some friends who have been involved in DR and CR REI, so maybe they can enlighten.
