Very good idea and comment.

I’ve learned that when I want something I’m not really entitled to, I’m more likely to get it if I offer to trade or give something to the other guy that he wants.

This knowledge didn’t always come easily to me, and I’ve tried to bull my way through and around the problem too many times before finally learning to think before acting.

I have a CountryWide loan w/ a 1 year pre-payment penalty. It’s now 9 months and I want to refinance the loan NOW, but if I do, I’ll have to pay a $12K pre-payment penalty.

Is there anyway I can avoid paying this or is there someone within CountryWide who I can talk to to plead my case??

The only persons that can answer this would be employees of CountryWide. If you refinance with them, they might be agreeable to waive the prepayment penalty.
