I borrowed $27,000 from someone and I just paid them back. I originally gave her a promissory note. Does anyone know what document I should have the person who lent me the money sign to show I the note is now void?
More importantly, the loan was secured through a house that I own. I issued to the borrower a document called “security agreement accompanying secured promissory note". The document says "security interest: Borrower grants lender at a security interest in the following property etc. etc. etc.”
This document then was filed and recorded by the city clerk here in Albuquerque New Mexico. Does anyone know what kind of document I need to have the borrower sign and notarized so I can record it and so that a title search would show that the original loan has been paid off and is no longer secured by the property?
