How to ask REIers to be a birddog - Posted by carson

Carson,
The thing to do is find the deal first. I’ve gotten so many calls from newbies, excited about RE, but no cash or credit. Realistically, 95%+ will be gone in a very short while, and less than one of a hundred will actually bring a deal. So knowing this, frankly most experienced investors will not waste much time with you.

But if you have a genuine deal, then call the investors. If it’s real, it will be snapped up within a couple of days or less.

If I just call “we buy houses” adds in the paper and ask if they want me to birddog for them, are they going to know what im saying? Do most investors know about birddogs or locators?

Also, What should i say after i figure out they do a lot of business?

Are you interested in letting my find some deals for you?

Should i mention Im a realtor right away, or if/when i meet with them?

Hi Carson,

My suggestion would be to find a local real estate club. They are a great place to meet other investors, real estate professionals, and mentors:
