I want to start my own mortgage brokerage.
I figured that it would be that much easier to get approved for loans and would also be great to get the extra income from the loans I could write for others.
Anyone know the procedure to starting this firm and how to get lenders?

Hello Ron also check out www.homeloans4you.info with this company you don’t have to do any of your own processing which is a big plus.You are also able to lend in 48 states.My code is BA3165 it is the easiest way to own a mortgage company and get licensed.I hope this helps. Jermaine

Go to http://www.thomas-law.com. This site will tell you what each state requires to be licensed as a mortgage broker or lender. You don’t need to hire someone to get a license, it can be done on your own.

My wife and I are considering opening a mortgage company. She has been a mortgage broker for over 10 years and has recently moved south to live with me. My father has earned his brokers license, and I am a practicing loan officer in California. I had my father earn his brokers because he owned a franchise and has good corporate standing, credit, and assets. How must I proceed? I have partners who are ready. But should we first look at forming an LLC or Corp, etc? Or should we just find an office/lease? Or should we focus on a processor who will work for a growing company? I appreciate your response.
