Insurance quotes seem high? - Posted by cuevas

Posted by cuevas on March 03, 2002 at 17:14:26:

Hello all,

I have contacted a few insurance companies and I am getting quotes around $400-600 per year for insurance on an older model ie 1977.

Is anyone else finding the same? Better or worse?

My goal was to find a good company to whom I can refer all my MH buyers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Following up on Carey_PA’s post, I tracked down Aegis Security Insurance on the Internet and called for a quote. 800-233-2160 is the phone number. Foremost quoted me $261/yr. for a 1977 14 X 70 MH. Aegis quoted $136/year for the same home.

Best wishes,
Jerry

I use AEGIS and I think for the last home I had I paid $160 or so for a 1970 something home…

Your quotes are wayyyy high!

Foremost had some high numbers and then we switched to Mobile USA. They gave us a rate of $263 for a 1970 @ $12k. Other homes are in the range of $250-$350.

Liberty American is writing policies with them. They can be reached @ 800-299-8911. They are out of Pinellas Park, FL and may only cover certain areas.

Hope this helps.

Jerry,
Did you ask them about insuring Non owner occupied or vacant homes by chance??
