I had never heard one ‘named’ that way (but what do I know?)… generally a quit claim deed will allow spouses to transfer property from one to the other… for example in the case of a divorce, where one party is no longer going to hold title to the property.

No doubt someone else can answer more eruditely… where did you come up with the question, out of curiosity?

What exactly is an “interspousal transfer deed”?

The other thing to consider when transfering ownership of a property like this, is that you will STILL remain responsible for any mortgage against the property until it is paid in full. Transfering your interest by a quit claim deed WILL NOT release you from the mortgage. You would have to get a signed release from the lender which is unlikely. The only other choice is to have the one spouse refinance or sell the property and go your separate ways.
