There is a great REI club down in that area. Bill Tan was the club leader the last I looked and would be a good resource to look up. He’s a great guy and I’m sure would be very cordial and point you to some resources and things to help you out.
The real estate clubs are listed here on this site and I am pretty sure the San Diego club is listed.

I will be visiting San Diego for a well-earned vacation this September and I’d like to utilize this time to meet or speak with anyone who’s investing there full-time as I might be moving there due to health problems. I want to Birddog/Wholesale part-time as I’ve been doing for
the last 2 years.
