Is there an estimate as to when the search engine will be fixed? - Posted by Check

Steve,

What they are saying is you will be searching in individual months BY YOUR search “keyowrds”.

To pre-select the seach word would not only be pains takingly time consuming it would also limit your ablity to search for what you are looking for.

When the “search” is broken down by month you will be able to look for the most current info on your subject.

This is most useful during rapid changes in the industry.

In reality you will be able to seach 3 months of data one month at at time quicker than if it was in ONE HUGE file.

Hope this helps

Just wondering when the search engine will be up and running again? What is wrong? Maybe people on this board could help fix the search engine or knows somebody who can and would be willing to do it for free. Just need to know what the problem is. Thanks.

It will be fixed as soon as Terry can devote a couple
of days to fixing it. We do consider it a priority,

The problem is that our archives are gigantic and take
too long to search. With 150 to 200 new posts every
day, you can imagine how they add up! So Terry has to
break the exisitng archives down into individual months.
That way, visitors will have to search each month separately,
but the search will be faster, and our site will stop
“crashing.”

Is by month the best way? - Posted by Steve

I hate to ask this but would it be too hard to set up by subject or some type of category.

Thanks
