Find out what comparable houses are selling for in the neighborhood. That will tell you if you have any equity to work with.
Even with minimal equity, you might possibly be able to catch up the mortgage and take over payments. You might then be able to resell on a lease option.

There is a boarded up house in my neighborhood. Public records show assessed value roughly 63,000. Owner owes 8,000in arrears plus she says 67,000 to mortgage Co. It will go to foreclosure on June 9. Is there any course of action here to be taken, or should I forget this one and move on?
